Global air freight markets in January showed a rise year on year, to a new monthly record, continuing “the improving trend witnessed toward the end of 2015”, and demonstrating the fastest growth since last April, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
And Kestrel Liner Agencies have certainly noticed this, so much so they are to open a dedicated office serving its air freight customers.
Based at Heathrow Airport, proceedings will officially commence on 1st April with John Fiddies at its helm and will offer exports and imports to/from worldwide destinations.
“This is a real transitional time for Kestrel. We are already known as one of the leading liner agencies and this new venture will only strengthen our position.” Andy Thorne, Kestrel CEO.
“Air freight is traditionally used for speed over other modes of transport and plays a vital role in our fast-paced society. You may have seen in the news recently how Britain’s biscuit shortage was thwarted thanks to the quick response that air freight can offer. We have always been able to offer our clients the best service, this means finding the most effective and efficient way possible to move their goods. With our dedicated air freight division we can go that one step further in exceeding their expectations.”
All clients of the Kestrel group have come to expect high levels of customer service as the norm. Something the company is very proud of. Amongst the conventional services you would expect from air freight, Kestrel can also offer:
• Premium ‘must-ride’ service for urgent cargo, often flying the same day
• Door to door courier services for smaller shipments
• Freighter services for out of gauge cargo
• Air charters for larger shipments
• Chilled airfreight and hazardous goods
• On-board courier services for important documents and small consignments
With many years’ experience, John Fiddies certainly comes with a great background. He has an exceptional depth of knowledge when it comes to air freight and instinctively knows the best solution.
From delivering small, but very important packages, to huge and equally important out of gauge cargo, Kestrel can offer import customs clearance and export customs entries. The new division is hoping that cross trade shipments (shipments which don’t necessarily come via the UK) will play an important role. Offering a slick and unique quoting system and same day collection for any bookings that are taken before 10.00 am, Kestrel certainly looks all set to take off!
