Baltic & European Shipping, a sister company to Kestrel Liner Agencies, were on hand last week to help move a selection of heavy vehicles to their new destination in Georgetown.
One consignment was a caterpillar 740b ADT (articulated dumper truck). This 37 ton truck needed two cranes to lift it onto the Beau Trader, a European Caribbean Lines vessel. The other vehicles were ex-army trucks, now spending the rest of their days working in the gold mines of Guyana. Easy to maintain these vehicle are ideally suited to the dirt tracks and poor road conditions around the mines.
This unusual shipment proved no problem for Baltic & European, who have a wealth of experience in dealing with heavy vehicle shipments and challenging cargoes. Their expertise meant that they knew exactly what needed to be done, in the most cost effective way for their client.
